February in Algarve means Cycling time! 

While the weather is still cold in most of Europe, in Algarve the sun usually shines and temperatures avg. around 20º. Just perfect for cycling!

With the organization of the Pro Cycling Race Volta ao Algarve and the Algarve Granfondo, many cycling enthusiasts, but not only, have their eyes turned to Algarve.

So Bikesul & Ride_In invites you to join us in a Cycling Experience with the opportunity to ride along the best roads where the Pro's will race during the Volta ao Algarve,  and participate in the Algarve Granfondo, the official Granfondo of the Volta ao Algarve.

Choose Granfondo, Mediofondo or Minifondo according to your level, and start riding along the best mountain climbs, flat roads or a mix of the two until you cross the finish line of the Volta ao Algarve finish lines.

Dare your friends and family! Apart from riding you will be able; to enjoy the hotel facilities, follow live the amazing race, and of course discover the outstanding region of Algarve.

Day 1
13 Feb - Arrival/ transfer and check-in Vidamar Resort Algarve 5*/ HB  
Upon your arrival at FAO airport or Train Station, a Ride_ In/ Bikesul representative will be waiting to transfer you to Vidamar Resort Algarve 5* in Salgados, Albufeira.

Arriving up to 3pm, a transfer will take you to the Bikesul shop, where you’ll have a welcome drink with a tour briefing and Bike Fit, followed by a warm up ride around 20k to the hotel.
Dinner included at the hotel from 18h30 until 22h30.

Day 2
14th Feb - Tour Salgados - Lagos/ Transfer Lagos/Salgados
On this first riding day we will explore the west part of the Algarve. From Salgados you will ride west and watch the passage of the 1st stage of the Volta ao Algarve in its first part of the stage. An easy, mostly flat day to get used to the Portuguese roads and climate. Lagos is one of the most typical villages of the Algarve and will host the 1st stage finish of the Volta ao Algarve. It's a flat stage so it will be expected to be a thrilling bunch sprint finish on the long avenue of Lagos. After finishing this stage a transfer will take you back to the hotel.
Distance: 60 km - 400mt of climbing

Day 3
15th Feb - Tour Salgados - Monchique/ Transfer Foia/Salgados
The 2nd stage of the Volta ao Algarve will be the first mountain stage, ending at the highest point of the Algarve, Fóia, at 904m high. This is an incredible stage to watch on site. In Serra de Monchique it will be possible to watch the stage in 2 different climbs, as the 2nd one will be the final climb to the top of the mountain. After this stage finishes a transfer will take you back to the Hotel.
Distance: 80km - 1.000mt of climbing

Day 4
16th Feb - Loop Tour in Salgados
During this morning, relax and enjoy hotel facilities or watch the live stage on a big screen at the hotel bar.
In the afternoon a 2h mostly flat ride in the Barrocal area of the Algarve with a stop at a local bike café in the traditional village of Paderne.
Distance: 50km  - 300mt of climbing

Day 5

17th Feb - The Algarve Granfondo Sportive
This will be a big day both for you and the riders of the Volta ao Algarve! Early in the morning in Albufeira will take place the Algarve Granfondo, the amateur event of the Volta ao Algarve. With the entry included in this package you can opt to choose to ride the  Mediofondo with around 85k or the Granfondo with 130k.
After midday the Pro’s will race it will be the individual Time Trial of around 20k also in Albufeira. 
Distance: 80 or 130km in the Algarve Granfondo Sportive.

Day 6
18th Feb - The Alto do Malhão Sportive ITT and the Grand Finale of the Volta ao Algarve
The 5th stage of the Volta ao Algarve is a key stage with the summit finish at Alto do Malhão, the steep 3k climb will be passed twice and it’s a great opportunity to see some of the best GC contenders and classic specialists testing themselves in the early new season.
Early in the morning you will be able to participate in the sportive ITT in the Alto Malhão uphill.

Day 7
19th Feb - Check-out - Transfer Vidamar Resort Algarve 5*/Faro Airport
After breakfast a transfer will take you back to FAO airport.
