Slovenian cyclist Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) won Paris-Nice for the first time in his career.
Portuguese cyclist João Almeida (UAE Emirates) finished in eighth place and won the youth jersey.
In this eighth and final stage of the race, with the final in Nice, the British cyclist Simon Yates (BikeExchange Jayco) was the fastest and won the stage with a time of 02:52.59 hours, nine seconds ahead of the Belgian Wout Van Aert and Primoz Roglic, Jumbo-Visma duo.
In the overall standings, Roglic held the lead, with Simon Yates in second place at 29 seconds and Colombian Daniel MartÃnez (INEOS) in third at 2:37 minutes.
João Almeida finished the last stage in 17th place, 2:19 minutes behind Yates, and thus ended Paris-Nice in eighth place in the general classification, 05:42 minutes behind Roglic.
