João Almeida leading the Tour of Catalonia

In the 18.5-kilometer individual time trial held in Banyoles, the Portuguese Deceuninck-Quick Step claimed the status of leader of the Belgian team with the third place, with a second advantage for the North American Brandon McNulty (UAD), in the 2nd place.
The 22-year-old from Á-dos-Francos was once again impressed by the way he attacked the 18.5 km route, with technical sections and with a well-memorized route.
Remí Cavagna, João Almeida's teammate at Deceuninck-Quick Step, obtained the 2nd best record in the 18.5 km 'chrono' in Banyoles, finishing 5 seconds from the winner.
Today the 3rd stage is running, with the goal installed at more than 2 thousand meters of altitude in the Pyrenees after 203.5 kilometers traveled from the Olympic Channel of Catalonia.
