Portuguese cyclist Ruben Guerreiro (EF Education-EasyPost) was ranked seventh in the classic Flèche Wallone, seven seconds behind the winner. The Belgian Dylan Teuns (Bahrain-Victorius) won, thus having the first major victory of his career. The Spanish Alejandro Valverde (Movistar) finished second.
Rúben Guerreiro achieved the third best performance of a Portuguese in Flèche Wallone, after the fourth place of Acácio da Silva in 1985 and the fifth of José Azevedo in 2002.
