The Colombian Daniel Martínez is the winner of the 49th edition of the Volta ao Algarve, which ended this Sunday, in an individual time trial in Lagoa.
Martínez, 26 years old, had the fourth fastest time, with 16 seconds more than the winner, the Swiss Stefan Kung (Groupama-FDJ), who completed the 24.4 kilometers of the route in 29.34 minutes.
The Belgian Ilan Van Wilder (Soudal-QuickStep) completed the podium, 15 seconds behind Daniel Martinez.
João Almeida (UAE Emirates) set the 13th time in the time trial and finished sixth overall. Rui Costa (Intermarché-Wanty-Circus) finished 10th, after recording the 16th time in the time trial.
