The Danish Kasper Asgreen won the Tour of Flanders, in Belgium, by beating the Dutchman Mathieu van der Poel to sprint, a big favorite to win the race.
Asgreen, from Deceuninck-QuickStep, travels the route between Antwerp and Oudenaarde (254.3 kilometers) with a time of 6h02.12 hours, surpassing in the final sprint the Dutchman of Alpecin-Fenix, winner of the Monument in 2020.
Portuguese Rui Oliveira (United Arab Emirates) and André Carvalho (Cofidis) finished 56th and 111th with four and three minutes of Asgreen, respectively.
