Almeida rised to seventh in the world ranking of road cycling

João Almeida (Deceuninck-QuickStep) rose to seventh place in the road cycling world ranking. In first place is the Slovenian Tadej Pogacar (UAE Emirates).
The Portuguese won the Tour of Poland and the Tour of Luxembourg and has 2084 points. The second best Portuguese is Rui Costa (UAE Emirates) who is in 166th place.
Slovenian Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma), three-time Vuelta champion, is in third place.
The recent two-time world champion, the french Julian Alaphilippe (Deceuninck-QuickStep), is fourth, colombian Egan Bernal (INEOS), winner of the Giro2021, is fifth and dutchman Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Fenix), best representative of teams in outside of WorldTour, it's sixth.
